Jacklyn is not just a vocalist, she is a true variety entertainer, taking many of her cues from some of the biggest icons in the history of showbusiness....stars such as Sonny & Cher, Carol Burnett , Frank Sinatra, Bette Midler, and other founders of theatrical musical and comedic entertainment.
Audiences are delighted by the heartfelt passion and dynamics of Jacklyn's performances, her sense of humor, outstanding vocal ability and the creative costumed show pieces she is known for.
Jacklyn has an unusually broad repertoire with something for everyone. Because of her diverse musical and theatrical offerings, Jacklyn customizes her music and performances to each individual client's function. Jacklyn fell in love with Johnny Depp's infamous character Jack Sparrow when the first Pirates of the Caribbean film was released. She and her partners in social crime dressed as a band of Pirates for Halloween that year with Jacklyn as the female version of the infamous Jack Sparrow. Thus the name....Jacklyn Sparrow.
The crew won a costume contest in a popular local venue and got some fun notoriety in the Calgary area. Jacklyn needed a name for her new band who was making their debut at a prestigious Halloween affair. The group dressed as a “band” of pirates with Jacklyn at the helm and without a second thought, the band was called The Jacklyn Sparrow Band.
The name suits Jacklyn's overall tendency towards theatrics, which she joyfully incorporates as part of her entertainment offerings. Her home has much pirate paraphernalia, including a pirate flag that has blown in the Alberta breeze in front of Jacklyn's rural lair for many years, signifying that Jacklyn Sparrow resides here....enter at your own risk Matey.....Arrgggg! She has kept this stage name for over two decades and will do so until she exits stage left.
